Condition assessment
Load-path analysis, moisture mapping, and EPHOD® decay detection produce a board-by-board condition report, so the plan is built on what the structure can actually carry, not guesswork.
Repair & reinforce
We strengthen the timber that's already there, Dutchman's patch repairs, pile posting, Structurfill® and Retrobond® epoxy injection, and FiRP® reinforcement (the Retroshear®, Retroten®, and Retrocom® panels) that restore full capacity in place. Decayed sections are amputated or densified and the exposed end grain sealed against moisture wicking, with preservatives applied on site, keeping the original material and the structure's character.

When a member is past saving, we replace it in kind, species-matched timber, original joinery, and heritage finish, fabricated and pre-fit in our shop, engineered to a 100+ year life.

Diagnose
EPHOD® decay detection and load-path analysis reveal what’s sound, what’s failing, and exactly what each member can carry.
Restore
We repair and reinforce in place, and shop-fabricate any in-kind replacements, load-tested before they reach your site.
Finish
We arrest active decay with Decaystop®, a borate solid-rod preservative that activates as moisture rises above decay levels, and borate diffusion treatment in the zones EPHOD® testing flagged, then apply heritage-matched finish, and hand over documentation reviewers can sign off on.

Before you restore
Can my structure be restored, or does it need replacing?
Far more often than people expect, it can be restored. Our assessment, load-path analysis plus EPHOD® decay detection, tells us what’s truly sound beneath the surface. We replace only the members that are genuinely past saving, and we tell you honestly which those are.
Will restoration keep the original timber and character?
That’s the entire point. We keep as much original material as the structure safely allows, typically the large majority of it, and any replacement is in kind: species-matched, joined the way it was originally built, and finished to match.
Do you meet historic-preservation requirements?
Yes. Our in-place repair approach is built to satisfy historic-review requirements for material authenticity, and everything is documented through our ISO 9001 process so reviewers have an auditable record.
How long will a restored structure last?
We engineer every restored and replaced member to a 100+ year design life. A timber structure restored and maintained to our standard outlasts the concrete and steel alternatives that would have replaced it.
How does shop assembly apply to restoration?
Any in-kind replacement components are fabricated and pre-fit in our climate-controlled facility and load-tested before shipping, so on-site work is faster, lower-risk, and disrupts your structure for less time.
