TRS’s reinforcement technologies, developed by a founder who holds 40+ patents in timber structural engineering, frequently offer a faster, less expensive, and longer-lasting alternative. Commercial timber roof systems
Private clubs, resorts, restaurants, and commercial buildings with aging timber roof trusses or glulam roof systems are prime Retroshear® candidates. Failing truss systems are expensive to replace, TRS can often restore full capacity at a fraction of replacement cost.
Historic timber buildings
The US has an extensive inventory of historic timber buildings, many subject to State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) review requirements that make full replacement complicated or impossible. TRS’s reinforcement approach respects historic material while restoring structural performance.

Roof truss restoration
A private club where failing roof truss members were discovered after a renovation had already been completed. TRS diagnosed the structural deficiency and restored the roof truss system and supporting members, preventing the dismantling of the newly renovated space.

Our US work is specified to AASHTO LRFD and AREMA bridge standards, NDS and AITC timber design, ASTM D07 material standards, and AWPA preservation, documented for state and county DOTs, the USDA Forest Service, and the US Army Corps of Engineers.
