What we collect, and why
When you contact us
Our enquiry and contact forms collect your name, email address, and whatever you choose to tell us about your project. We use this only to respond to you and to carry out any work that follows.
When you apply for a job
Our careers form collects your name, email address, phone number, location, a link to your LinkedIn or portfolio, your earliest start date, your reasons for applying, and your résumé or CV. We use this solely to assess your application. A CV may contain more information than the form asks for — please include only what you are comfortable sharing.
When you subscribe
Our field notes and case study updates collect your email address, and in some cases your name and company. We use these only to send the material you asked for. Every message includes an unsubscribe link.
When you browse
Our host records standard server logs, including IP address, browser type and pages requested. These are used for security and to keep the site running.
Cookies
We use cookies that are necessary for the site to work. Any cookie used for analytics or marketing is switched off until you turn it on. You can make or change that choice at any time using the cookie preferences control on the site.
We apply the same standard to every visitor, wherever you are, rather than the minimum each region requires.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf: our web host, our email delivery service, and our consent management provider. Each is bound to use the information only to provide that service.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Where it is held
Because we operate in Australia, Canada and the United States, your information may be stored or accessed in any of those countries. Where information is transferred out of the region it was collected in, we take steps to ensure it remains protected to the standard described here.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries — for as long as needed to respond and to manage any resulting work, and afterwards where required for legal or accounting purposes.
- Job applications — [RETENTION PERIOD] after the role is filled, unless you ask us to remove them sooner.
- Subscriptions — until you unsubscribe.
- Server logs — for a short period, as part of routine hosting.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- ask what personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct it
- ask us to delete it
- object to, or ask us to limit, how we use it
- receive a copy in a portable format
- withdraw consent you have given, at any time
To exercise any of these, email info@timberrs.com. We will respond within the period required by the law that applies to you.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to your local regulator — the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or the relevant authority in your country.
Children
This site is intended for businesses and professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection, and access to the information collected through it is limited to the people who need it. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you give us.
Changes
If we change this notice we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be made clear on the site.
