Bridge 28, Lantz Bridge located in the municipality of west grey was deemed to be in a condition too poor to repair. It was decided to replace the bridge with a new timber structure. The 69.44 foot clear span girder under bridge was designed by Wood Research and Development (WRD). WRD was responsible for the development of the tender documents and oversight of the manufacture and installation of the structure. The bridge was fabricated in our state of the art plant in Jefferson, Oregon. The 69.44 foot girders were shipped using stretch trailers, first to a plant where they were treated with preservative then to the job site for installation. All other timber components were also sent for treatment and all hardware and fasteners sent to be hot dipped galvanized. The final components arrived to the site April 23, 2022. Using our accelerated installation methods the bridge was installed and ready for paving May 15, 2022.
