Timber Restoration Services are pleased to have been awarded the repair and strengthening works at the Waaje Fire Tower in the Barakula State Forest, Barakula in the Western Downs Region of Queensland. The tower was built in 1964 by Arthur Leis and was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on January 25, 2018. It is a 4 legged tower design and is approximately 30.5 (100 ft.) metres tall to the cabin deck. See further details of the Heritage Register listing on the link:

The proposed works to be managed and executed by TRS include repairs to the 4 columns as required, repair, replacement or augmentation of the cross-bracing between the columns and the installation of anchor blocks and guy wires to reduce the towers deflection.
Works are scheduled to commence late August or early September and must be completed by 13 November 2020.
